I just made $1140 this week working from home for google. I cant believe how easy this is. Im recommending this to everyone, check out this guys google blog makemoneywith-google.com
Well last week the internship I am involved in switched gears. On Monday I worked on Climb Providence, per usual. So I researched further the outreach potential of getting climbers together as I had done the previous week.
On my Wednesday shift, however, I started what is to me a pretty daunting task - a nicer version of telemarketing.
There is another really interesting event taking place at the Regency Hyatt in Boston. This is a live and silent auction with keynote speakers who have made great strides in lung cancer related issues. This, of course will benefit the ALA.
More can be found out about it on Boston.com at http://dogood.boston.com/nonprofits/the-american-lung-association-of-new-england/events/lights-camera-auction-an-evening-of-lung-cancer-awareness
So, on Wednesday I was assisting another volunteer in the office to make dozens of calls to would - be donators of items and/or services for the auction. The list of businesses that I called included pet - oriented businesses. These calls were follow ups to see if these businesses had received the material that we had sent directly to them about the auction.
The reactions of most were uncertainty about the event and mainly a shut down of any opportunity to donate. Consequently, many animal - minded businesses only contribute to animal - oriented charities.
I am starting to feel like I may have chosen the wrong internship for me mainly because I enjoy working more with people on a face to face basis and not primary on the phone or web.
I would like to have more of a hands - on experience and gaining knowledge as I go, which at this point in time does not seem to be the case.
I hope to address this with my "boss," but I don't want to hurt her feelings as she is a super sweet lady.
Any suggestions on how to go about this? I am not even sure who has access to this but help from anyone would be apprecited!
I started my internship this past Wednesday September 10th. I truly enjoyed meeting the people who work for the Providence office of the American Lung Association and got a brief overview of what the duties included of each individual.
I sat down with my internship coordinator, Elise, and we went through the details of what she is expecting from me in my time there. I have been assigned to work on an upcoming fundraiser called "Climb Providence."
This is an event that will be held on February 28th, 2009 at 1 Financial Place in downtown Providence to benefit the organization that I am interning for The American Lung Association.
This event will consist of a 28 floor stair climb which will be structured as a timed race all the way to the top. Various gender and age brackets will be used for fairness. Teams of 5 or more may compete at once or individuals can go in intervals. I will post more information about the event as more specifics are surfaced.
I have been put in charge of recruiting would be teams from any company, school, organization, or public departments that may have an interest in building a team and committing to this important yet fun fundraiser. I am currently in the process of conducting research of particular contact people in these fields that may have the ability to get the ball rolling within their own organization.
So far, my search has been very successful and there are quite a few groups that we will be outreaching to to get involved with us in February.
I am very excited to have this opportunity and it will give me an excellent chance to network with people around the entire state for an excellent cause.

Also, there isn't a preview before post option either.
I wonder if there is a way to fix this?
